Find one example of Internet marketing that you think is particularly effective and one example that is ineffective. Session 3: Assignment One Question
1. List the customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by (a) making a reservation, (b) using frequent flyer miles, and (c) completing a flight. How does information from CRM improve these interactions ?

Customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by making a reservation are listed as following, Customer Name, Company Name (if applied), Passport Number, Contact Number, Destination, Flight Class, Flight Details, Date of Reservation, Date of latest Confirmation, Billing Address and Email Address.
Customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by using a frequent flyer miles are listed as following, Customer Name, Passport Number, Miles Added of Current Flight, Accumulated Miles and Expiry Date.
Customer data elements generated when a customer interacts with an airline by completing a flight are listed as following, Customer Name, Passport Number, Current Flight Time Precision, Customer Comments and Remarks.
The frontline staves like, Customer Servies and Ticket Sales Department are able to gain the customer details easily and immediately, all in one place, hence they can help and deal with customer with different needs, request and enquiry with full information quickly and suitably.
2. What are the benefits of integrating the sales, marketing and customer support function using a single software pacakge and a centralized database ?

There are many benefits of integrating the sales, marketing and customer support function using a single software package and a centralized database, since if it was so, staves from different departments, like sales department, customer services and support department and marketing department are able to share customer data and information, moreover, saves work load of entering data, hence staves can help, promote, settle and deal with different customer's need, request and enquiry quickly, realiably and suitably. Moreover, company can widely collect customer data and information throught out all interaction and centralized, hence they can sort out certain precision customer, study about different classes customer behaviour and for futher analysis that helps promotion and improvement in future.

1. The sale department and warehouse are integrated within the Order-to-Delivery process.
2. The following steps are included in the Order-to-Delivery process in sequence, order received, real time inventory checking, confirmation of sale order, sending order list and delivery details to warehouse, receiving order list and delivery details from sale department, pick and pack for the delivery items, printing of delivery note and packing slip for shipment, delivery, confirmation of delivery.
3. There are many factors we shall concider whether ERP is suitable for small business, such as cost involved with new equipments, maintainance and operational cost, size and manpower consumed with the current business, number of steps and procedures involved in transaction and etc.
Cost involved with new equipments and maintainance and operational cost, are the key factor to concider whether it's suitable for small business in order to start an ERP. The actual effort of using ERP would depends on the size and manpower consumed with the current business, the number of steps and procedures involved in transaction. For example, some small business are involved with as low as 2-5 employees at the same working place, somehow they can get work done even quicker than checking on computer in some cases. However, it's relatively less reliable and effecient in most of the cases, so that whether small business is suitable for ERP, would depends on how much efford it can bring with more compare with resources and costs involved.

Nowaday, IT products is all around everywhere, such as our mobile phone, Play Station Portable, MP3 Player and etc. Business company has been using the IT technology to improve and create something new products and services as well.
Internet Banking is one of good example to decrible how business company provides and be supported by information systems. Bank of Communication, is one of my most frequent use internet banking.
Bank of Communication's internet banking provides services like basic account enquiry, fund transfer, credit card service and payment, bill payment, foreign exchange and even as advance service as stock excahnge, insurance, mortgage service and investment service. That leads everyone can manage their banking needs and enquiry wherever they are, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at home or even oversea.
By the improvement of IT technology, investors can get most updated and real-time information including stock value, financial news and information. Hence, people are much more easier than ever before to involve with the financial investment, plus saving time to queue at bank branch.
Moreover, stock exchange as well as most of other banking services over internet banking, is much less, cheaper service charge than man teller at bank branch.
The internet banking services, are reliable, interactive and cost saving of newly banking system, is getting more and more popular and frequent used by public.
